Semi-detailed study of land suitability classification of major field crops in Hajiabad- Tashkuieh.

The need for optimum use of land has never been greater than at peresent, because of very population growth Although Soil Survey and land classification in Iran has a rather long history but most of the time it has been used for land Suitability avaluation in order to help land developers and agriculturists. The aim of this study is soil characteristics magerement and evaluation of land qualitative suitability for wheat, Corn and potato in Hormozgan province. The studied area located between 56°25 E and 56°31 E altitule and 27°57' N and 28° 3' N longtitude with 2800 Ha area. The information obtained From a Semi- detailed soil survey indicated that Entisols and Aridisols are the main soils. In total ,4 soil families and 9 phases of families were identified. After soil classification and experiments result, land suitability classes were determined according to" FAO system of land evaluation for special Crops " ,with Simple limitation method and parametric method. The qualitative land suitability, classes for com are S3 to N2, for wheat are S2 to N2 , for potato is N2.
