Investigation of the effect of new fungicides in control of wheat tan spot.

Tan spot incited by Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, is an important disease of new wheat cultivars include N-8019 that is resistant to yellow rust disease. The disease inflicts considerable losses to the crop in the epidemic years. Providing resistant cultivars is the most effective method to control of this disease and it needs to long times, therefore Application of effective fungicides is a quick method to combat the disease in epidemic years. In this study, the effect of some registered fungicides (Falcon with 0/45, 0/6, 0/75 L/H and Nativo with 0/75, 1, 1.25 L/H) were evaluated on a susceptible wheat line (N-8019) for tan spot control in field conditions in Mazandaran province. The propiconazole was used as reference fungicide. The fungicides applied at flag leaf of wheat. The experimental design was carried out as Random Complete Block Design with 3 replications under artificial inoculation on field condition in Bayekola Research Station. Each plots include 45أ meter, spaced 1 meter apart and replications spaced 2 meter apart. The treatments were evaluated 10 days after the spray and then each ten days by recording the disease type and severity. The grain yield and one thousand seed weight was also calculated after wheat harvesting. Statistical analyses of collected data were performed by software MSTATC. Analyses Results showed that, there is a significant difference at 1 level between the treatments either in disease control, one thousand seed weight and in yield .Fungicides either Falcon with 0/75 or Nativo with 1.25 liter per hectar showed most effective to reduce tan spot disease and increasing of one thousand seed weight and in yield.
