These studies were investigated to determine the effaects of municipal solid waste compost (MSWC) and nitrogen on soil physicochemical properties and quantitative and qualitative characteristics of silage corn. The experiments were conducted by a Split plot design with randomized complete block with 9 treatments and 3 replications in Agricultural Research Center of Tehran. Treatments were consisting of MSWC at three levels of 0, 10 and 20 ton ha-1 and nitrogen at three levels of 0, 87 and 176 kg ha-1. Results showed that the single effect and interaction effect of urban waste compost and nitrogen on biological yield were significant in 1% level. Data also showed that application of MSWC together nitrogen fertilizer had maximum yield. Application of MSWC had significant effect on salinity, nitrate, available iron, available zinc and pH. Also, first year results showed application of MSWC caused physical characteristics improvement e.g. decreasing bulk density, increasing field capacity and available water. Pb, Cd and Ni had increased significantly but they were lower than legal level. Application of MSWC 20 ton.ha-1 increased Pb to upper legal level in crop. Therfore, MSWC aplication of 10 ton ha-1 with nitrogen application of 176 kg ha-1 were recommended to ptoduction of health silage. These results obtained from one years of research. Authours recommend theses research replicate at least for three years until obtain details results. Key words: municipal solid waste compost, corn silage, soil physicochemical properties.
