Effect of carboxin-thiram fungicide on effectiveness of some selected commercial inoculants and viability of its plant growth promoting rhizobacteria in wheat seed.

In addition to that biofertilizers have positive effects on soil stable fertility; they also have some other beneficial attributes such as economical and environmental. Therefore they can be used as a suitable substitute to replace all or at least some of chemical fertilizers. Two kinds of current Biofertilizers in our country are Barvar 2 and Nitroxin , which include Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR). These bacteria can increase plant growth through direct and indirect mechanisms. Considering wide use of Carboxin thiram to control fungal pathogens in wheat cultivation in Iran, this project was designed and performed to define the effects of this fungicide on the affectivities of these two inoculums. By performing two green house tests, use and non-use of Carboxin thiram and use and non use of barvar 2 and nitroxin (seperatly) effects on growth indexes of wheat plant (Chamran Cultivar) were studied. Also effect of Carboxin thiram on two inoculant bacterial population on wheat seeds was surveyed in vitro condition. Bacteria counting test results showed that carboxin thiram had no any meaningfull effect on wheat seed coated bacteria. Green house results showed that barvar 2 had meaningful effects on plant height (P%1), panicle length (P%5) and seed yield(P%5) . Barvar 2 in Carboxin thiram interaction, had meaningful effect on 1000 seed weight( P%5). On the basis of results we can use barvar 2 with carbixin thiram simultaneously. The results of second experiment also showed that caboxin thiram had no any meaningfull effect on wheat seed coated bacteria from nitroxin inoculum. Green house results showed that, nitroxin inoculum had meaningful effect on plant height (p%1). Nitroxin in Carboxin thiram interaction, had meaningful effect on tillering( P%5) and increased seed yield but this increase was not meaningful.These results also showed that we can use nitroxin inoculum with carboxin thiram simultaneously.
