Two Experiments were carried out in order to investigate the effects of beet molasses on triticale silage fermentation quality and to determine the digestibility of triticale forage silage. In the first experiment, forage triticale was harvested at the trough stage by chopper and was mixed with three levels of molasses (0, 3 and 6 %) and silage materials were stored into plastic buckets and compacted. After 45 days, samples were taken from the experimental silos. pH, dry matter, total nitrogen and ammonia nitrogen were measured in the laboratory. The results obtained showed that the inclusion of molasses had no significant effect on silage quality. In the second experiment, digestibility of the triticale silage was determined in vivo using four different diets. More specifically, four experimental diets were investigated; 1: 60% corn silage 2: 20% corn silage and 40% triticale silage 3: 40% triticale silage and 20% corn silage, and 4: 60% triticale silage. Eight male adult sheep and individual metabolic cages were used. The results showed that the dry matter digestibility of the diet containing the triticale silage was improved significantly. However, addition of the triticale silage in the ration led to no significant difference in crude protein, crude fiber, NDF and ADF digestibility. Moreover, the highest and lowest metabolic energy were measured for diets 3 and 2 (2.45 and 2.03 Mcal/kg, respectively) but were not statistically significant.(P%5) Overall, addition of molasses had no significant effect on the quality of triticale silage fermentation and addition of the triticale silage to corn silage also led to no significant differences in digestibility of the ration.
