The study of gene molecular networks in the context of cytoplasmic male sterility demonstrates a high level of co-expression interactions, providing also an overview of the biological processes, colocalization, physical interactions and shared protein domains. Subnetworks generated on the function basis have allowed us to reveal the products of gene expression that are involved in the regulation of redox homeostasis, function and biogenesis of mitochondria, energy metabolism, reproductive organ development, microsporogenesis, signalling and signal transduction, DNA repair and recombination, apoptosis.
