Results of agrochemical and phytosanitary inspection of 20-year-old fallow lands of west of natural economic zone of Oryol region. It is shown that during withdrawal of fields from crop rotation the humus content in the soil has decreased by an average of 4,9 % (0,12 % of the absolute value), available phosphorus – by 35,4 %, exchangeable potassium – 49,4 % and acidity increased from 5,29 to 4.82 units, or 8,9 %. These lands are overgrown with weeds, populated by different species of insects, disease spread on the plants. Among the plants perennial species predominate (about 74,4 %) such as yellow sowthistle (average 22,5 %), quackgrass (average 16,6 %), horsetail (average 15,4 %). Quarantine weeds are not found. From insects the greatest distribution had phytophages (about 54,6 %) among which oligophages (61,8 %) prevail. Almost 2 times less polyphages occurred (29 %) and absolutely small part of insects has been presented by monophages (9,2 %). Entomophages counted 1,22 times less than phytophages.Among dangerous diseases of plants mealy dew, anthracnose, various species of rust, septoria spot and helminthosporiosis are found.
