In course of the research there were studied the role of humic substances and organic and mineral aggregates in the formation of crop yields. The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. As a result of realized research there were revealed patterns of change in the components of humus with an increase in its content in the soil, reviewed the results of changing the state of humus sod-podzolic soil in the long-term stationary experiments with different systems of fertilizers, methods of application of mineral fertilizers, with different doses of lime material and methods of cultivation. There were considered such questions as effect of nitrogen fertilizer on the optimal content of humus in the barley fields, patterns of change in the qualitative composition of humus by increasing its content in the soil, humus soil conditions change due to anthropogenic factors, crop residues as the primary source of organic matter in the soil, yield and mass of plant residues of crops under different fertilizer systems in the rotation at different ways of applying fertilizers, crop yield and mass of post-harvest crop residues due to fertilizer and liming doses and others.
