In the southern and central regions of Belarus, the influence of sowing terms of early ripening maize hybrids FAO 180 on plant development, grain yield formation and its moisture and also dry matter yield has been studied. The advantage of early (April) sowing term of maize growing for grain particularly in the years with insufficient heat provision is shown. The duration of the period of 'sowing-shoots' of corn ranged from 13 to 25 days, influenced by several factors (sowing qualities of seeds, water regime), but temperature rendered the greatest impact. Between the duration of the period of 'flowering - shoots' and temperature of the air there is a close correlation (r = -0,89 ... -0,95). The delay in sowing 10-14 days reduces the interphase period 'shoots-bloom' and reduces the difference to 4-5 days. On average, over seven years of studies the earlier (10-14 days) time of sowing decreased the grain moisture by 5.2%. In cold years, this difference amounted to 4,6-8,0%, in warm -2,1-4,1%. Between grain moisture and average daily temperature there is a close correlation (r = -0,85 ... -0,86).
