Vegetable and fruit crops appear the most essential foodstuffs, possessing dietary and prophylactic properties and representing the most effective source of hypoavitaminosis prevention. Reduction of fruit and vegetable spoilage and losses during storage appears an important challenge of food-producing industry. Microorganisms and fungal diseases are the most important factors of horticultural production spoilage. The article describes the results of the research aimed on the reduction of vegetables and fruit spoil and losses during storage due to decline of microbiological activity. The strains of microorganisms causing the most common diseases of fruit and vegetables during storage are tested to the impact of the disinfectant 'Navisan-Agro', developed by the specialists of Belarus State Agrarian Technical University and scientists of Institute for Meat and Dairy Industry of the Scientific and Practical Center for Foodstuffs of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus. The most important characteristics of the disinfectant product 'Navisan-Agro' are given; the main advantages of its application are enumerated.
