In course of the research there was studied economic effectiveness of application of nitrogen fertilizers and fungicides for cultivation of various malting barley (Hordeum vulgare) varieties. The research was realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus on sod-podzolic sandy loam soil in 1999-2001 in Smolevichi district of Minsk region (humus – 1.8-2.3%, P2O5 content – 182-231 mg/kg, K2O – 162-236 mg/kg of soil, pH KCl – 6.1-6.4). As a result of realized research it was revealed that the highest net income and profitability under the weather conditions in the period of the researches were provided by var. Taler with application of N45 and single application of fungicide Rex at flag leaf stage. Varieties Visit, Ataman, Gastinets and Syabra were inferior by those indicators regardless of the intensity of nitrogen and fungicide application in plant cultivation. The calculation of annual expenditure on malting barley cultivation was presented. Economic efficiency of cultivation of various malting barley varieties was shown.
