In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analysed the results of the stationary experiment on the study of nitrogen balance in crop rotations in dependence on their saturation with intercrops, such as winter, undersowing, and postharvest crops. Winter rye (Secale cereale) for green material was used for fodder purposes, undersowing crops (perennial lupine (Lupinus), serradella (Ornithopus)) and postharvest white mustard (Sinapis alba) – for fodder and green manure. Inclusion of interplanted crops into crop rotations at the recommended norms of fertilizers does not lead to a decline of the economic and soil nitrogen balance. In all rotations with interplanted crops there was marked a positive economic nitrogen balance. Summary of its value significantly depended on the crop variety composition and how they are used (for forage or green manure). The highest positive value of the balance was in the rotation, using per two fields the interplanted legumes (seradella and perennial bitter lupine) for green manure, respectively, + 38 and 45 kg / ha per year.
