In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was realized a research in order to determine the effect of soil drought on the productivity of promising varieties and hybrids of potato (Solanum tuberosum), select еру samples which were minimally reducing the productivity under stress conditions and lack of moisture. As a result of the study there were selected potato hybrids, which to a lesser degree lowered the productivity rate (on 5,0-11,5%) in the conditions of lack of soil moisture: potato of an early group of ripeness 032572-22 and 032596-9, middle early sample 032532-7 Manifest, mid-ripening 2410-33, middle-late 106-04-17 Gostsinets, 8159-6. The large fraction of tubers more than 60 mm in the variant with the lack of soil moisture has exceeded the control variant in all studied hybrids: 032532-7 Manifest – 150,7% (715,9 grams per bush), 2410-33 – 175,2 % (552,1 grams per bush), 7883-4 Volat – 148,8 % (689,0 grams per bush), 106-04-17 Gostsznets – 134,4 % (515,1 grams per bush). The increase in the content of dry matter and starch in tubers of practically all hybrids of late group of ripeness from +0,2 % (19-04-7) to +4,4 % (52-03-16) is established. At the majority of hybrids early and mid-ripening groups the dry matter and starch content in tubers decreases in limits from 0,3 % (2657-4) to 2,4 % (032596-9).
