Preparation Modified Agglutination Test for Neospora Caninmu.

Neospora caninum is one of the major agent of reproductive disease and abortion in cattle. This protozoan causes significant economic losses, due to abortion, stillbirth, or birth of weak calves with persistent infection and reduced milk production .Neosporosis have worldwide distribution and from many countries including Iran have been reported. Diagnosis of infection is mainly based on serological tests. The aim of this study ,is standardization and evaluation of the modified direct agglutination method (N-MAT) to determine serological prevalence of Neospora infection. In this study, 187 serum samples from cattle with abortion history, 200 serum samples from domestic chicken and 200 serum samples from Horses were collected from Fars province and also 150 horse serum samples from the province of Khorasan Razavi were collected .All serum samples were tested with the modified direct agglutination method. The results showed that infection rate of neospora were , 40, ...., 30 and 32 percent in, domestic birds, horses( Fars province ) and horses ( Khorasan province) respectively. This is the first report of neospora infection in horse and domestic chicken in Iran . Key words : Neospora caninum Agglutination Antigen.
