Promocijas darbā pētīti šādi jautājumi: jēdziena ekoloģija lietojums un nozīme, vārdkopu izglītības un veselības aprūpes ekoloģijas satura būtība un nozīme; studiju kursa programmas Ekoloģiska pieeja pacientu aprūpē atbilstība teorētisko pētījumu pamatkonstrukcijas blokiem; izveidoto ekoloģiskās pieejas principu nozīmība, ievērošana un aktualizācija izglītībā un veselības aprūpē; pašvērtējuma kritēriju atbilstība ekoloģiskās apziņas veidošanās rādītājiem un ekoloģiskās kompetences komponentiem; studiju kursa Ekoloģiska pieeja pacientu aprūpē integrācijas scenāriji, sasniedzamo rezultātu un nozīmības izvērtējums. Promocijas darba mērķis ir izstrādāt un empīriski pārbaudīt ekoloģiskās pieejas principus medicīnas māsu izglītībā un veselības aprūpē, izmantojot ekoloģiskās kompetences modeli, lai veicinātu medicīnas māsu ekoloģiskās kompetences attīstību. Promocijas darbā izstrādātie ekoloģiskās pieejas principi un ekoloģiskās kompetences modelis veicina ekoloģiskās apziņas veidošanos un to, ka šos principus un modeli var izmantot visu līmeņu izglītības programmās un veselības aprūpē.

The doctoral thesis has looked into the following issues: the concept of ecology, its meaning and application; the content, essence and meaning of a collocation of ecology of education and health care; congruence of the study course The Ecological Approach in Patient Care to the basic theoretical building blocks of the research; the significance, observation and topicality of the defined principles of the ecological approach in education and health care; compliance of self-assessment criteria to the development indicators of the ecological consciousness and components of the ecological competence; scenarios of implementation and integration of the study course of the Ecological Approach in Patient Care, assessment of the desired outcomes and significance. The aim of the doctoral thesis is to develop and empirically test the principles of the ecological approach in nursing education and health care by applying the model of the ecological competence to promote the development of the ecological competence of nurses. The defined principles of the ecological approach and the ecological competence model promote the development of the ecological consciousness. Both he principles and the model can be applied in study programmes of all education levels and health care.
