Landscape improvement at Novotel Bangkok hotel, Siam square

Novotel Bangkok Hotel, Siam Square is located at Soi 6, Pathumwan, Bangkok. The area for landscape improvement is 87 square meters, which is divided into 4 parts: 1) the hotel entrance, 2) front of the hotel, 3) exit area and 4) east side of the hotel. The existing garden had been used for a long time and needed an improvement. Studying period was between November 2009 to January 2010. Data from field survey and client interview showed that the plants at the entrance did not grow due to inadequate light. The front area had no focal point which required a dominant plant. Plants on the east side of the hotel were in bad shape because of a long-term use. This side required a dense shrub to screen external view. The design process included site survey, site analysis, cost estimation and presentation to hotel administrator. The design is now under the hotelโs administrator consideration.
