Research of the association of polymorphic genes with the characteristics of milk productivity of cattle represents one of the most important directions of the modern selection programs. This approach allows revealing genotypes, characterizing with high and low levels of productivity according researched characteristics. The main goal of the research presented in the article appears evaluation of advantageous and unwanted genotypes of polymorphic genes-candidates according the characteristics of productivity of cows of Holstein and Belarusian black-and-motley breeds, analysis of the phenotypic effect of average productivity of general collection of animals. As potential genetic markers of milk productivity traits in cattle of Holstein and Black-and-white breeds have been studied six single nucleotic replacements, situated in key gene of somatotropin cascade: bPit-1-Hinf1, bPit-1StuI, bPRL-RsaI, bGH-Alul, bGHR-SspI and bIGF-1-SnaBI. It has been shown that in time of evaluation of polymorphism association with a sign, it is expedient to carry out the evaluation of phenotypic effect of preferable and undesirable genotypes in relation to the level of general selection productivity.
