When it comes to researching food waste at household level through theories of economics as a field of science, more emphasis is drawn to actual wastage amounts and what an impact such a food wasting behaviour can leave on the household budget and on local and world’s environment. But to determine how food wasting at household level affects agrarian sector, it is important to research food wasting through the context of food security. Currently in the world food is already produced enough to feed the whole world’s population, but globally there are a lot of people whose income are insufficient to buy or grow enough food to survive, in the meantime a lot of food products get simply wasted. The main goal of this article is to research the factors that are closely connected with food availability that influence food wasting on household level. The main results show that food prices, lack of infrastructure and government support of the food producers, normative regulation regardless food donation and unsuitable packaging are the main reasons why globally food gets wasted on household level.
