Red-fleshed dragon (Hylocerus costarinces Weber) is a newly introduced cacti crop species in Claveria, Misamis Oriental [Philippines]. It is an emerging crop with immense potentials for fresh fruit, processed, medicinal and industrial uses, respectively. However, under local condition, studies on appropriate levels of nutrition of the crop are still very limited, hence this study. Experimental set-up involving different levels of NPK fertilizations (Tsub1-120-120-120 (N-P2O5-K2O), Tsub2-120-60-60; Tsub3-60-120-60 and Tsub4-60-60-120) respectively, was set-up under Jasaan Series with red-fleshed dragon fruit as test cultivar. Key parameters on growth, quality and economic efficiency were determined and evaluated. Different nutrient levels imposed influenced the individual fruit weight; however other key characteristics were statistically the same. Result is suggestive that the test genotype can be suitably grown under the given agroecosystem applied with the various imposed fertilizations. Moreover, analysis on economic efficiency revealed that less application of N and P, and more of K resulted to higher Return on Investment (ROI) values. Significant based-line information generated will help further improve the productivity and economic efficiency of the species.
