Nutritional value and prohealthy properties of cereal and rapeseed varieties approved for cultivation in Poland

The scope of the study allowed the identification of the most useful raw materials for the manufacture of food products with high nutritional value and high content of bioactive components, therefore the most useful varieties for the production of functional foods. On the other hand, the results pointed out the varieties most useful for animal nutrition. In general, it has been shown that varieties of cereals which should be the most promoted for use in baking and food industry are varieties not most recommended for the production of animal feed. The results presented in this monograph broaden the results of variety experiments conducted by COBORU and thus give a more complete picture of the end-use value of the varieties of different species of cereals and rapeseed that are suitable for cultivation and exploitation in Poland.
