The invertebrate fauna habitats' differentiation in small and medium lowland rivers as the indicator of their ecological state
2015
Oglęcki,P.
The river valleys are especially valuable environmental elements-also in view of their ecological differentiation. The biologists point out that - especially in the light of obligatory idea of sustainable development-technical investments have to take into consideration the benefits of the nature, not influencing negatively the ecosystems, ballistically the biological diversity. Therefore the author recognised the necessity of creation of relatively simple classification of most common river habitats and the determination of their importance for the ecosystems' mosaic. The best biological indicator in such ranking is invertebrate fauna, considering its taxonomic richness. The value of invertebrate fauna in environmental studies bases not only on its importance as diversity index, but also biological indication of many taxa. Some systems of river classification base up[m the abundance of invertebrate.
