إنجليزي. The American foolbrood is one of the most dangerous honeybee diseases that threaten apiary. This is a bee brood disease that afflicts honeybees Apis mellifera and other insects of the genus Apis. The publication deals with the agent of this disease, the spread of disease between bee colonies and apiary, the clinical signs, as well as honeybee resistance against disease, diagnosis and prevention, American foolbrood and legislation, immediate measures in the case of American foolbrood suspects and the choice of an action plan, treatment with medication, arguments against antibiotics, elamination of bee colonies, cleaning and disinfection of inventory.

APP ir bišu peru slimība, ar kuru slimo medus bites Apis mellifera un citi Apis ģints kukaiņi. Izdevumā apskatīts šīs slimības ierosinātājs, izplatīšanās bišu saimē un dravā, klīniskās pazīmes, kā arī bišu pretošanās slimībai, slimības diagnostika un profilakse, APP un likumdošana. Izklāstīti tūlītējie pasākumi APP aizdomu gadījumā un rīcības plāna izvēle, slimības ārstēšana ar medikamentiem, kā arī argumenti pret antibiotiku lietošanu, bišu saimju iznīcināšana, inventāra tīrīšana un dezinfekcija.
