Pruning is crucial to balance productivity and fruit quality in blueberry orchards, and it stimulates the growth of new shoots. It has different goals depending on intensity applied. The best way of pruning for cultivars grown in local conditions has not been investigated. The objectives of this study were to compare the effects of pruning intensity (slight (25% of canes were removed), moderate (removed 75% of canes) and conventional) on nine blueberry cultivars; to evaluate pruning effect on yield, berry weight, and new shoots formation. Pruning stimulated the growth of new shoots for all cultivars. The higher yields from the bush were obtained at conventional pruning intensity.
