Fusarium head blight is one of the most important diseases in small grain cereals. This plant disease, which is caused by fungal species within the genus Fusarium, may have a negative influence on yield and grain quality. Mycotoxins produced by Fusarium species, accumulate in grains and may cause adverse health problems when consumed by human and animals. Seminar topics: 1) Plant – Fusarium interactions (including Fusarium biology and disease resistance); 2) Mycotoxins (including toxicity, human and animal health); 3) Management of Fusarium and mycotoxins. The seminar gives an updated view of Fusarium and mycotoxins for scientists, advisers, breeders, veterinarians, authorities and cereal industry seeking solutions for mycotoxin and cereal quality problems in crop production, cereal trade and quality assessment.
