A total of 25 species of plants, mainly from CALABARZON [Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon] Region and Bataan Province [Philippines] were documented as host plants of Aspidiotus rigidus Reyne. Fifteen species belong to Aracaceae, one under Clusiaceae two under Annonaceae, two under Musaceae, two under Araceae and three under Pandanaceae. List of plants except for mangosteen, considred for quarantine are hosts of Aspidiotus destructor Signoret. This has resulted in interception of n-hosts plants of A. rigidus like mango seedlings while other plant hosts particularly those belonging to families Araceae and Pandanaceae, which are non-hosts of A. destructor might be allowed to pass through checkpoints.
