Цревни паразити риба београдског региона Дунава / The intestinal parasites of Belgrade section of the Danube River
2013
Ђикановић, Весна
In this monograph, the author presents results of two-year studies of intestinal parasites fauna in different fish species of the Danube River in the Belgrade area. By examination of intestine, 440 individuals were infected by intestine parasites, that is 54,86%. the fishes examined yielded a total of 54 endoparasites belonging to groups: Cestoda (14), Trematoda (19), Nematoda (9) and Acanthocephala (12). Composition of ichthyocenoses of belgrade section of the danube River regarding ecological and biogeographical characteristics are presented, age and sex structure have been analyzed, as well as fish population dynamic in regard to sampling period. Checklist of identified endoparasites per groups is presented, and also internecine relation of identified parasitic species, as well as heir presence in specimens of different fish species. There have been analyzed also extensity (percent of infestation, number of fish infected by certain parasite) and intensity (number of parasite per fish) of fish samples parasite infestation. In the monograph are presented results of numerous researches who studied freshwater fish parasitofauna of surface waters of Serbia, as well as worldwide literature of parasitic species distribution in different fish species. Using nonparametric statistical tests (Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA and Median Test, comparing multiple independent groups/samples and Chi-square Test) there were observed statistically significant differences (dependence) comparing conditional factor (CH, Fulton’s body conditional factor) compared health/uninfected individual and infected specimens of each fish species (P<0.05). Results reached within these ichtyoparasitological studies will contribute considerably to complete data of fish helminthes composition and their distribution in Serbian open waters, which is of multiple benefits for scientific (academic) public, economic fisheries and its development. In this monograph, I want to emphasize that presented results are good base for further fish endoparasites investigation, expanding studies in freshwater fish of other surface waters, like reservoirs and fishponds.
