The purpose of this paper is to show the agrarian budget structure in the Republic of Serbia, to compare it with the Republic of Croatia and point the basic differences in agricultural subsidy systems between the two countries. Exploring the differences in the funding method of agrarian sector as well as changes brought about by the accession to the European Union could be seen as a secondary aim of the paper. The comparative data analysis related to the structure of the agrarian budget has led to conclusions on priorities in the agrarian sector funding, prior to and after the accession to the Europen Union. Furthermore, the paper looks at the measures used in the AP Vojvodina to encurage the development of agriculture and rural areas.
