Ar informācijas tehnoloģijām lauku attīstībai pusgadsimta garumā

The book reflects the development and use of information technology (IT) in Latvian agriculture, from the introduction of mainframe computers in the 1960s to the use of IT today, and related major events over half a century. Events have been viewed sequentially over a decade - from 1960 to 2000. In addition to IT development and use in the agricultural sphere, the book deals with the development of education and science at the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU), starting with the establishment of the Department of Economical Mathematical Methods and Computing in 1967. The author of the book, Mr A. Gailums, has witnessed developments in the field of information technology in agriculture and has himself participated in a number of events and processes from the years of study and the development of a diploma in the LLU up to work as head of the LLU Computer Systems Board. The book is intended for use by Faculty of Information Technologies and other faculty students, teaching stuff and all interested.

لاتفيا. Grāmata atspoguļo informācijas tehnoloģiju (IT) attīstību un lietošanu Latvijas lauksaimniecībā, sākot ar lieldatoru ieviešanu 1960. gados līdz pat IT lietošanai mūsdienās, un ar to saistītos nozīmīgākos notikumus pusgadsimta garumā. Notikumi skatīti secīgi atsevišķu desmitgadu griezumā − no 1960. līdz 2000. gadiem. Grāmatā līdztekus IT attīstībai un izmantošanai lauksaimniecības sfērā saistībā ar informācijas tehnoloģijām skatīta izglītības un zinātnes attīstība Latvijas Lauksaimniecības universitātē (LLU), sākot ar Ekonomiski matemātisko metožu un skaitļošanas tehnikas katedras dibināšanu 1967. gadā. Grāmatas autors A. Gailums ir bijis liecinieks IT jomā lauksaimniecībā notiekošajām pārmaiņām un pats piedalījies daudzos notikumos un procesos, sākot ar studiju gadiem un diplomdarba izstrādāšanu LLU līdz pat darbam LLU Datoru sistēmu katedras vadītāja amatā. Grāmata paredzēta lietošanai ITF un citu fakultāšu studentiem, mācībspēkiem un visiem interesentiem.
