Educational Needs Assessment of Green Care Business Managers

The objectives of the study were to identify the educational needs of the green care business manager, and to recommend the educational strategies. For the objectives, needs assessment questionnaire was developed by researcher, and sent managers or owners of green care business managers by mail. Out of 700 green care business managers whose business addresses were collected in phone directory or internet, 79 replied. The t-test, Borich need assessment, and Locus of Focus method were applied for deciding the items having more critical needs. And the educational needs among green care business managers were compared along with their gender, educational background, region, and business types. The important educational needs for green care business manager were to make the business proposal and fund, to promote the business marketing, to keep the green care customer safe and protection, to find the business cooperation resources and network, to recruit and manage the green care customers, and to make the green care surroundings and facilities. The educational needs of green care business managers were different in their characteristics as gender, educational background, business location, and business type. Training program for green care business manager should include making the business proposal, securing the budget, promoting and marketing the business, recruiting and supporting the customer, securing the customer safe, finding the green care business cooperation resource and network, and making the green care surrounding and facilities. Because green care business managers have very different needs by their characteristics, training contents and goals should be changed by their business location, business type and other characteristics.
