This report presents the results of the Pilot Benchmark Study conducted for the Decentralized Agriculture and Forestry Extension Project (DAFEP) by a team of CIRAD (Robin Bourgeois, Dominique Boutin and Daniel Deybe) and Idé-Force (Anne Gouyon) consultants in cooperation with the DAFEP Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) section, funded by The World Bank through the French Trust Fund between March and July 2000. The report consists of two volumes : volume I presents an account of the work conducted by the team, including the objectives of the mission, the methodology and a discussion of the results of the mission ; this volume, i.e. volume II, presents the output of the mission, in the form of guidelines for the implementation of the DAFEP Benchmark study. The methodology proposed in this study can be adapted for another situations and conditions, specially for the analysis of the economic results of rural households, in Indonesia or elsewhere (Résumé d'auteur)
