Panonian part of the Danube River in Serbia, from Bezdan to Banatska Palanka, comprises of more water quality monitoring stations, which represent the biggest agglomerations of polluters, as well as rivers Drava, Tisa, Sava, Tamiš, Velika Morava and canals of the Hydrosystem Danube-Tisa-Danube joining the Danube at Novi Sad and Banatska Palanka. The papers present results of the comparative analyses of water quality parameters and ecological status, as well as Water Quality Index - WQI. Obtained results about water quality of the Danube are indicating satisfactory quality, because investigated parameters in most of the cases are belonging to II or I classis of ecological status. Parameters that do not satisfy are suspended particles and nitrites at some monitoring stations. Moreover, obtained values of WQI are ranging from 72-89 of WQI index, which coressponds to described indicators – good, and very good. The exception is at the sampling station Pančevo, where WQI is 70 which corresponds to the described indicator – bad.
