There is a growing need for use of renewable energy sources. Within international institutions and individually, a large number of countries are working towards the achievement of challenging goals related to the growing use of renewable energy sources. There is significant development of measures and instruments for their use in certain countries. A debate has developed among professionals about what strategy and measures of encouraging the use of energy from renewable sources are the most effective. Bearing in mind that the possibilities of energy production in agriculture are high, this issue is certainly of importance for agricultural producers and all other participants in the agricultural sector. The paper gives an overview of professionals’ attitudes, who mostly agree that price incentives, above all feed-in tariffs (FIT), have proved to be the most effective instrument in practice, especially in the early phase of investment and capacity installation. It should be noted that, in practice, not only the selection of appropriate measures is important, but their specific design as well.
