The paper presents the results of the study on the effects of Chlorella Vulgaris suspension ongrowth performance, development and honey yield of bee colonies (Apis mellifera carpatica). A series ofexperiments were carried out with worker bees and nurse bees fed, in several steps, with one liter (per bee colony)of suspension of Chlorella Vulgaris with sugar 1:1. During the active season, the control of bee colonies wasperformed every 12 days up to the main harvest from black locust. The results revealed that Chlorella supplementhad a beneficial effect on the development of bee colonies. The number of capped brood in Chlorellasupplemented groups was 22,4% more than in the control. Honey yield also increased by 17.0% as comparedwith the control group, fed with sugar syrup. Dietary Chlorella supplementation to nurse bees contributed to abetter development of queen cells, influencing their mass, length and diameter. For stimulating the developmentof bee colonies in the spring, when there is a lack of natural forage (nectar and pollen), it is recommended to usethe suspension of Chlorella Vulgaris with sugar 1:1, one liter every 12 days; in the period of queen rearing – fromthe transplanting of larvae to the capping of queen cells, (5 days).
