The copepod diversity (Crustacea: Copepoda) of Ludaš lake in Vojvodina (Serbia)

Zooplankton as well as other aquatic organisms prefer habitats which have stabile and constant physical, chemical and biological features. During six months research period in the year 2017 four genera: Cyclops, Acanthocyclops, Eucyclops and Eudiaptomus were detected in the Ludaš lake with the dominant presence of C. vicinus and A. robustus. The abundance, species diversity and seasonal population dynamics of zooplankton represent very sensitive and accurate bioindicators of freshwater ecosystems conditions, such as water quality, eutrophication, pollution levels and presence of contaminants.
