In order to control the quality soil of natural and sown grasslands in hilly and mountain area of the City of Krusevac and the production of healthy food on these terrain, the chemical properties and the total number of microorganisms were determined. Microorganisms are the most numerous group of organisms in overall metabolic activity of soil and represent good indicators of soil health, as they respond quickly to changes in soil ecosystem. 8 eight samples of soil from sown grasslands and twelve samples from natural grasslands from different locations were examined. On the terrain of this region, there are soils of various physical, chemical and .mechanical properties, which are mostly characterized by increased acidity with average humus content and with the total number of microorganisms ranging from 6,401 to 7,300 (log of number).
