The overview of results of investigations of the influence of pasture on fattyacid content in cow’s milk. The factorswhich have influence are genetic andparagenetic, while nutrition is the most important one. Numerous experimentsproved that polyunsaturated fatty acid content in milk rises with the increase ofpasture in the diet. However, the use of pasture as the sole feed inhibits theproduction in modern dairy cows which is why conserved forages andconcentrates are added to the diet. In spite of the explained deficiencies, feedingcows on pasture is very up-to-date procedure especially in mountain areas and inorganic production systems.
