Competitiveness analysis of the Georgian viticulture and winemaking industry.

The article analyzes competitiveness of the Georgian viticulture and winemaking industry. The diamond model, also known as Porter's Diamond or the Porter Diamond Theory of National Advantage, which describes a nation's competitive advantage in the international market is used for this purpose. In this model, four attributes are taken into consideration: factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, and firm strategy, structure, and rivalry. In order to have better understanding how these factors impact the competitiveness of Georgian wine, the data were analyzed using the SWOT method. It allowed determine the strengths and weaknesses of the Georgian viticulture-winemaking industry, also the future opportunities for enhancing competitiveness of Georgian wine in the global markets and the aspects that can be considered as threats.
