A preliminary survey of understorey birds at Lubuk Tapah and surrounding areas,within the southwestern Endau-Rompin National Park, Johor, documented 206 birds belonging to 62 species captured after 1840 netting hours. The birds belonged to 16 families, with the majority in the Timaliidae, Pycnonotidae and Muscicapidae. Widely distributed species included the Yellow-Bellied Bulbul (Criniger phaeocephalus), Grey-headed Babbler (Stachyris poliocephala), Rufous-collared Kingfisher (Actenoides concretus), Short-tailed Babbler (Trichastoma malaccense), and LittleSpiderhunter (Arachnothera longirostra).
