A study was carried out to determine the effect of irradiation on duku-Iangsat seeds desiccated for 0, 8, 16, 24 and 32 hours. The radiation doses used were 0, 250, 500 and 750 rads. Moisture content of seeds were determined after each desiccation period. Percentage germination and seedling height were recorded for each treatment. Percentage germination decreased with increase in desiccation period. Radiation also influenced percentage germination, with percentage germination decreasing with increase in radiation dose. The results also show significant interaction betWeen desiccation and irradiation. Seedling height at 6 weeks is generally influenced by desiccation but does not show significant difference between the different radiation ,doses.
