This paper presents the results of the evaluation of several green manure crop on sand tailing, with the objective of identifying adaptable green manure crop in terms of growth performance, biomass production and nutrient yields. The green manure crops evaluated were Pueraria javanica (PJ), Colopogonium mucunoides (CM), Indigofera tinctoria (IT), Centrosema pubescens (CP), Calopogium caerulem (CC), Mucuna cochinchinensis (MC), soyabean (SB), mungbean (MB-a Taiwan variety), Kacang hijau (KH-a local mungbean) and groundnut (GN). BIOMass production in terms of fresh yields was found to range from 7 to 27 t/ha. Dry yields ranged from 1.5 to 5.9 t/ha. N yield obtained was between 20 to 166 kg/ha. About 40-80% of the N was found in the leaves. Incorporation of the green manures did not give satisfactory yields of the subsequent cucumber grown.
