Influence of temperature, leaf wetness duration, and turfgrass age on development of gray leaf spot (blast) of Festuca arundinacea
1999
Uddin, W. | Burpee, L. L. | Stevenson, K. L.
Development of gray leaf spot on Rebel III tall fescue, caused by Pyricularia grisea, at three temperatures (24,26, and 28°C) and ten leafwetness durations (LWD) (4,8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, and 40 h), was evaluated. The effects of temperature and LWD on disease incidence were significant. Temperature and LWD were positively correlated with disease incidence. There were significant interactions between temperature and LWD. The effects of turfgrass age (4 to 11 weeks) on disease incidence and disease severity were significant. Both disease incidence and disease severity were negatively correlated with turfgrass age.
