The size structure, seasonal and annual dynamics of biological characteristics of shrimp females Sclerocrangon salebrosa from Peter the Great Bay (Japan Sea)

The size structure and biological characteristics of shrimp species (Sclerocrangon salebrosa) females from two commercial aggregations in Peter the Great Bay are investigated. The females' size structure differed significantly between these two aggregations in terms of percentage of large-size individuals. We observed relationship between size and females' fertility, as well as between size and percentage of females with fertilized eggs on pleopods. The peak of shrimp spawning was observed in winter-spring season. The features of fertilized eggs' seasonal dynamics substantiates the fact that it incubation period last no less than a year
