The aims of this paper are to determine the average value of the diameter, volume and surface area of the erythrocytes of the dogs, and whether there is a statistically significant difference in these values in the measured erythrocytes colored by the Diff Quick and Giemsa staining method. By analyzing the general average, we conclude that there is no deviation that would be significant from the aspect of daily clinical work (DQ: G): area 36,994: 36,2038; volume 21,5062: 21,2703 and diameter 6,8382: 6,7903. The T-test pair in which comparison is made between different types of staining for each animal individually indicates that there is a statistically significant difference between DQ and G staining when it comes to surface and volume, but not about the erythrocyte diameter. DQ gives a slightly larger surface area and the circumference of the cell compared to G staining. However, these differences are not clinically significant. There is statistically significant positive correlation of volume, surface and erythrocyte erythrocyte dyed by DQ and G staining, indicating that there is comparability between these two types of staining.
