The article presents the results of testing the leafless pea and soybean varieties from the world collection of the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources with the goal of selecting the source material for breeding the varieties resistant to lodging and that are adapted to the conditions of Yakutia. The work was performed according to the methods accepted by the institute. The fieldwork was carried out in 2015...2020 at the scientific field hospital of the M.G. Safronov Yakut Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture located on the second upland fringe of the Lena river in the Khangalassky district of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The research utilizes the following criteria for the evaluation: short-stature – 4 varieties (Gousses, Shustrik, Demos, Madonna); multiplicity on the floriferous shoot — 2 varieties (Batrak and Gousses); multi-seeded and smallseeded bean — the Yamal variety. Out of all the studied soybean varieties in Yakutia, two varieties have matured-Kasatka and Dina. While the Kasatka variety has been found to be more early-maturing, the Dina variety prevails in the number of productive nodes and the number of beans on the plant (height 56.3 cm, 9 productive nodes, 16 beans).
