A type of seagrass named Posidonia oceanica (L.) delile's seasonal changes at the coast of Alanya

In this study, two different stations and depths coast of Alanya sea meadows of Posidonia oceanica?s distributed was carried out by examples of seasonal at 2010 and 2011. The mat layer thickness of P.oceanica was determinated as medium and thin. The maximum peak heights of P.oceanica was measured 29.36±1.31 cm while the minimum value was found as 12.06±0.40 cm determined. It was found the highest vertical Rizomes of P.oceanica was 134.75±0.14 number/m2 while the minimum value 91.75±0.23 number/m2 determineted. The number of leaves of P. oceanica was changed between 315.25±0.57 number/m2 - 793±0.72 number/m2 The differances population density and the decrease number of leaves P.oceanica was determined. The morphological and characteristic species of P.oceanica in Alanya coast was showed similar with the other P.oceanica meadow in mediterrian coast of Turkey. The result of suggest that P.oceanica could be negative effective of lessepsian fishes.
