An abundance of the three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus) in the Baltic Sea between 2016-2021 | Ogaliku (Gasterosteus aculeatus) arvukus Läänemeres aastatel 2016-2021

إنجليزي. The abundance of the three-spined stickleback in the Baltic Sea has increased significantlyover the last decade. Little is known about the location and dynamics of three-spinedstickleback stocks in the Estonian sea.The aim of the thesis to evaluate the abundance and location of three-spined stickleback inEstonian territorial sea.The data used in the research was collected within the BIAS survey conducted by theEstonian Marine Institute in the Estonian sea area. The ICES zones are 45H0, 45H1, 46H1,46H2, 47H1, 47H2, 47H3, 48H4, 48H5, 48H6.The results show there is lot of risk of abundance over the years. The highest abundance wasin 2016, when the total abundance reached to 13 billion individuals. The lowest number in2018, the number was close to 1,4 billion. By region, the largest catch area was 45H0 with1.41 billion owls and the smallest catch area was 46H2 with 50 million fish. The averageabundance per square foot was 0.55 billion individuals.Compared the evaluations of the stickleback abundance in Estonian territorial sea to otherregions of the Baltic Sea Gotland has five times higher abundance. In the southern part of theBaltic Sea, there is smaller stickleback abundance compared to Estonian territorial sea. Theabundance of the stickleback and else the location of it in Estonia territorial sea is similar to the Gulf of Botnia. The differences of the abundance of the stickleback between Estonianterritorial sea and western part of the Baltic Sea could be caused by the differences of thedepth of the sea and competition of the nutrition with other species.

Viimasel aastakümnel on Läänemeres ogaliku arvukus märgatavalt tõusnud. Eesti merealalpaiknevate ogalikuvarude paiknemise ja dünaamika kohta on vähe teada.Töö eesmärgiks on anda hinnang ogaliku arvukusele ja paiknemiseks Eesti merealadel ningvõrrelda saadud arvukuse näitajaid teiste Läänemere piirkondadega ja välja tuua peamisedoletatavad põhjused.Uurimisel kasutatud andmed pärinevad Eesti Mereinstituudi poolt läbi viidud iga-aastasestpelaagiliste kalavarude uuringust Eesti merealal.Tulemustes selgub, et aastate lõikes on ogaliku arvukus väga muutlik. Kõige kõrgem arvukusoli 2016. aastal, mil ogaliku arvukus ulatus 13 miljardi isendini. Madalaimat arvukusttäheldati 2018. aastal, siis jäi arv 1,4 miljardi lähedusse. Keskmiseks arvukuseks ühesvaatlusruudus oli 0,55 miljardit isendit.Võrreldes muude Läänemere piirkondadega on Gotlandi saart ümbritseva mereala ogalikuarvukus ligikaudu viis korda suurem. Läänemere lõunaosas elab ogalikku vähem kui Eestisning Põhjalahe arvukus on sarnane Eesti omaga. Peamiste ogaliku arvukust mõjutavateteguritena võib välja tuua röövkalade madala arvukuse, merevee keskmise temperatuuritõusu ning Läänemere kõrge eutrofeerumise taseme.
