Study of maize selective material on resistance to Northern leaf blight.

Among the diseases of maize, the northern corn leaf blight, widespread in western Georgia, is distinguished by its negative economic significance, which strongly damages the imported hybrids. Therefore, mainly local varieties and varieties with low yields are sown here. The most effective method of increasing productivity in this zone and combating this disease is to breed disease-resistant high-yielding hybrids and introduce them on farms. The results of the study of resistance to northern corn leaf blight of the selective maize material (lines, varieties, hybrids) are given. A prospective selection material for the mentioned zone has been identified. Tab. 1, Ref. 2.
