مجهول. The maximum weight gain pre calving and loss during post calving was observed in group 2 fed 10% higher protein and birth weight of calves was significantly (P<0.05) higher in T", and T., as compared to the control group. Daily dry matter intake of lactating cattle did not differ significantly due to plane of nutrition. Crude protein and DCP intake increased significantly (P<0.05)by feeding 10 or 20% higher level of protein than the required level. Average daily milk yield were 9.51, 11.35 and 10.26 kg in treatment Tl' T2 and T'.respectively which revealed that by increasing 10% CP in the diet, milk yield and 4% FCM yield increased signiticantly (P<0.05). The highest peak yield was attained by animals under treatment T., but days required to attain peak yield were also more. The period taken for exhibition first postpartum oestrus did not differ significantly due to levels of protein. There was not saving of 33 paise for producing 1kg of 4% FCM by feeding 10% higher CP over NRC standards.Â
