Development and ex-post validation of prediction equations for the energy value of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) root meal for broiler chickens

Three studies were conducted to determine the variability in the chemical composition and energy concentration in different sources of cassava root meal and develop prediction equations for the energy values of cassava root meal for broilers using chemical composition and in vito dry matter degradability, and to determine the effects of feeding different sources of cassava root meal using the predicted values for AME sub n on prediction performance using isocaloric and isolysinic diets. In Sunday 1, results indicate a wide variation in the nutrient composition of cassava root meal. On a DM basis, AME sub n values ranged from 3,067 to 4, 261 kcal/kg, with an average of 3,687 kcal/kg. Crude fiber and ash concentration were negatively correlated (r=-0.67 and 0.53, P0.01) with AME sub n. The optimal models to predict the AME sub n content of cassava root were: AME sub n
