Ecological potential of lakes on Fruska Gora | Ekološki potencijal jezera Fruške gore

The concept of ecological status (or ecological potential) was introduced by the EU Water Framework Directive (WFD). The aim of this paper was to determine the ecological potential of the lakes on Fruška gora, based on macrophytes. Four hydro-accumulations on Fruška gora (Bruje, Međeš, Moharač and Sot) were researched. Two indexes of macrophytes were observed (total number of taxa and S-W (Shannon-Weaver) diversity index) by the Regulation on parameters of ecological and chemical status of surface waters and parameters of chemical 266 and quantitative status of groundwater. According to the observed indexes, all four hydro accumulations of NP "Fruška gora" belong to the I category and have "good" ecological potential.
